Advent International, a prominent global private equity firm, has announced its acquisition of Sauer Brands Inc., a company known for its popular condiments and seasonings, from Falfurrias Capital Partners. The financial details of the transaction remain undisclosed. Sauer Brands boasts a portfolio that includes well-known products such as Duke’s Mayonnaise, Mateo’s Gourmet Salsa, and Kernel Season’s.

Duke’s Mayonnaise, established in 1917, is particularly notable as it has become the fastest-growing brand in the mayonnaise category. Tricia Glynn, Managing Partner at Advent, expressed confidence in Sauer Brands' growth potential, highlighting its rich history and consumer appeal. She emphasized Advent's experience in scaling consumer brands, which will support Sauer Brands' ambitious growth strategy.

Todd Lachman, the incoming board chair of Sauer Brands, echoed this sentiment, praising the company's commitment to quality and its strong performance in the market. Bill Lovette, CEO of Sauer Brands, described the acquisition as a significant milestone, noting the company's readiness to thrive with Advent's support.

Falfurrias Capital Partners, which has worked closely with Sauer Brands over the past five years, expressed confidence in the company's strategic positioning for future success under Advent's ownership. Advent has a strong track record in the food sector, with previous investments including Sovos Brands and Grupo CRM.

Sauer Brands, originally founded as The C.F. Sauer Company in 1887, produces a wide range of flavors, including condiments, spices, and extracts. Its manufacturing facilities are located across several states, and it also offers private label products for various retail channels.

Advent International, founded in 1984, manages over $88.8 billion in assets and has made more than 420 investments globally. The firm focuses on partnering with management teams to enhance business operations and drive growth across its core sectors, including consumer goods.

Falfurrias Capital Partners, established in 2006, specializes in investing in middle-market businesses and employs a research-based approach to identify growth opportunities. The firm has raised $3.4 billion across multiple funds and aims to leverage its operational resources to support portfolio companies.

This acquisition marks a strategic move for Advent International as it continues to expand its presence in the food industry, demonstrating its commitment to investing in brands with strong consumer appeal and growth potential.
