Bain Capital Acquires 15.9% Stake in Företagsparken
Bain Capital, a global investment firm, is set to invest EUR 150 million in Företagsparken, a prominent player in Sweden's light industrial real estate sector. This investment will facilitate new acquisitions and the expansion of Företagsparken's existing property portfolio.
Fastator, which holds a 25 percent stake in Företagsparken, will not be selling any shares as part of this transaction. Instead, Bain Capital will acquire 15.9 percent of the existing shares in Företagsparken. The company is known for its growth-oriented approach, focusing on acquiring, developing, and managing high-yield properties in urban business parks across Sweden.
Företagsparken currently manages around 250 properties nationwide, with a total property value estimated at SEK 6 billion (approximately EUR 0.55 billion) as of the end of the year. Angeelica Holm, acting CEO of Företagsparken, expressed optimism about the partnership with Bain Capital, highlighting the potential for accelerated growth through mergers and acquisitions.
Svante Bengtsson, CEO of Fastator, noted that Företagsparken has attracted significant interest from international investors, particularly in light of Europe's increasing focus on local manufacturing for military and civil preparedness. He views Bain Capital's investment as a catalyst for growth and further investment opportunities for Företagsparken.
