Bowmark Capital, a UK-based private equity firm with £2bn in assets, has promoted Tom Shelford to Managing Partner. Shelford, who leads the firm’s Software practice, has been with Bowmark since 2008 and became a partner in 2014. He joined the Investment Committee and Executive Board in 2016, contributing significantly to the firm's growth and overseeing several successful investments. His current board roles include positions at WSD, Lendscape, and Focus Group, and he previously worked in corporate finance at PwC.
This promotion comes at a time when Bowmark is celebrating a successful year, having made new investments in companies such as CubeLogic, Eque2, Transparity, and Turnkey. The firm also realized its investment in Focus Group by selling to Hg, where it reinvested. Earlier this year, Bowmark announced the closing of its latest flagship fund, surpassing its target with commitments exceeding £900m.
Shelford's promotion reflects Bowmark's commitment to leadership development and its strategic focus on technology, data, and services investments.
