Capricorn and Pollen Street Invest £105m in Level Lender

Capricorn Capital and Pollen Street Capital have invested £105 million in Level, a non-bank lender regulated by the FCA. This funding includes equity from Capricorn and a senior secured facility from Pollen Street, aimed at enhancing Level's lending services for probate and family law cases.

George Williamson, Level's founder and CEO, expressed enthusiasm about the investment, stating it positions the company well to meet the increasing demand for its services. He highlighted the challenges of probate delays, rising inheritance tax, and the ongoing cost of living crisis as factors driving this demand. Williamson also noted the importance of partnering with reputable investors.

As part of the investment, Robert Gottlieb and Ricardo Delgado from Capricorn Capital will join Level’s board of advisers. Paul Varty from Pollen Street Capital emphasized the alignment of this investment with Pollen Street’s asset-backed credit strategy, recognizing the growth potential in the probate and family law lending sector. He praised Level for effectively addressing market needs and expressed eagerness to foster a long-term partnership.

Gottlieb further described Level as a compelling investment opportunity in a rapidly expanding market. Having known the company for several years, he looks forward to collaborating with its executive team to support its growth and help realize its full potential.
