Cotswold-based tech support firm Kubus has secured a £9 million investment from growth capital investor BGF. The funding will be utilized to accelerate the company's growth, which serves notable clients such as Dell, Fortinet, and Cisco.
Following the investment, Paul Brennan, a member of BGF’s talent network, has joined Kubus as non-executive chair. Brennan previously served on the board of Amdaris, another BGF-backed company that was acquired by Fortune 500 firm Insight Enterprises in August 2023.
Andrew Humphrey, CEO of Kubus, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with BGF, stating it would help the company leverage expertise and resources for global expansion. He emphasized the pride in being a Cotswolds-based business while serving clients worldwide. The investment is expected to enhance innovation and customer value, with Brennan's support making the future look promising.
The investment deal was led by BGF's South West team, specifically investors Edwin Davies and Louis Hall. Davies highlighted Kubus's strong vendor relationships and established customer base, noting the company's impressive growth and innovation in the tech sector. He believes Kubus is well-positioned to seize upcoming market opportunities.
For the fiscal year ending March 31, 2024, Kubus reported a turnover of £35 million and an EBITDA of £2.6 million, indicating solid financial performance. The company received legal advice from Squire Patton Boggs and tax advice from Marcussen, while BGF was advised by Michelmores and PKF Francis Clark.
This investment marks a significant step for Kubus as it aims to enhance its market presence and operational capabilities in the technology sector.
