The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB), operating as CPP Investments , is a Canadian Crown corporation established by way of the 1997 Canada Pension Plan Investment Board Act to oversee and invest the funds contributed to and held by the Canada Pension Plan (CPP).
The Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) has announced a commitment of approximately $690 million to acquire a significant minority stake in Regnology, a software provider specializing in regulatory reporting solutions for financial institutions. This investment will also involve private equity firm Nordic Capital, which will make a new investment to retain its majority ownership in the company.
Regnology, based in Frankfurt, serves over 35,000 financial institutions with its software solutions. CPP Investments believes that this funding will enable Regnology to expand its reach into international markets, enhancing its growth potential. Sam Blaichman, head of direct private equity at CPP Investments, expressed confidence in Regnology's strong market position and the potential for attractive risk-adjusted returns from the investment.
While the specific terms of the deal have not been disclosed, CPP Investments anticipates completing the transaction in the first quarter of 2025.
