CVC Appoints Somerville and Petty as North America Co-Heads
CVC Capital Partners has appointed Lorne Somerville and Cathrin Petty as Co-Heads of North American private equity, effective January 1, 2025. They will operate from CVC’s New York office and are tasked with advancing the firm's private equity strategy in the region.
Somerville and Petty take over from Chris Stadler, who will now serve as Chair of North America. This transition is part of CVC’s long-term succession plan for its private equity operations. Stadler has been instrumental in expanding CVC’s private equity presence in North America since 2007.
Lorne Somerville has been with CVC since 2008 and will also continue to lead the Strategic Opportunities strategy, focusing on investments in stable, high-quality businesses with extended investment timelines. Cathrin Petty joined CVC in 2016 and will maintain her role as Global Head of Healthcare while also being a member of CVC’s Partners Board.
Both Somerville and Petty bring extensive experience in North American markets, having led various investment strategies in the region for several years. Their familiarity with the market dynamics is expected to enhance CVC's operations and growth in North America.
