Investcorp, a prominent global alternative investment firm, has announced the return of Daniel Lopez-Cruz as the Global Head of Private Equity, effective March 3, 2025. He will succeed Dave Tayeh, who is set to leave the firm at the end of June 2025 after a transition period. This leadership change is part of Investcorp's strategy to streamline operations and prepare for future growth with a new generation of leaders.

Daniel Lopez-Cruz brings over 30 years of experience in private equity, having previously spent nearly two decades at Investcorp. He was instrumental in leading significant deals in Europe and was recognized as one of Europe’s 50 Most Influential People in Private Equity multiple times from 2019 to 2022. His return is seen as a strategic move to enhance Investcorp's private equity operations across various regions, including North America, Europe, India, Asia, and the MENA region.

Mohammed Alardhi, Executive Chairman at Investcorp, expressed enthusiasm about Lopez-Cruz's return, highlighting his expertise and management skills as vital for the firm’s growth trajectory. Lopez-Cruz himself noted the strength of Investcorp's private equity team and expressed eagerness to build on the firm’s existing successes.

Dave Tayeh, the outgoing Global Head of Private Equity, reflected on his long tenure at Investcorp, emphasizing the growth of the private equity strategy and expressing confidence in Lopez-Cruz's leadership. Tayeh's departure marks the end of a significant era for the firm, during which it established itself as a leading mid-market investor globally.

Lopez-Cruz's career includes a decade in investment banking with UBS and Morgan Stanley, and he holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. His extensive background positions him well to lead Investcorp's private equity initiatives as the firm seeks to capitalize on ongoing market growth.
