FRP Corporate Finance has played a pivotal role in securing a £16.5 million venture capital investment from BGF for Bournemouth-based fintech firm Twenty7tec. This investment aims to drive significant growth and expansion within the UK.

Twenty7tec, founded in 2014, develops market information platforms for financial advisors, mortgage brokers, and lenders, boasting over 16,000 daily users. The company employs 100 staff and serves clients such as Aviva, Barclays, Virgin Money, and AJ Bell.

The funding from BGF, which provides venture capital for small and mid-sized businesses, will support new product development, recruitment, and potential M&A opportunities. FRP’s Corporate Finance team, led by Clive Hatchard, Richard Boyden, and Chris King, advised Twenty7tec on this investment, leveraging a strong relationship built through three previous acquisitions.

As part of the deal, Angela Williams, with experience from British Airways, Centrica, and Land Securities, will join the Twenty7tec board as non-executive chair. Her expertise will be instrumental in refining and executing growth strategies.

James Tucker, CEO of Twenty7tec, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with BGF, highlighting the shared excitement for future opportunities. He emphasized the importance of enhancing talent, investing in products, and exploring inorganic growth opportunities.

In 2022, FRP Corporate Finance also advised Twenty7tec on its acquisition of Bluecoat Software. Clive Hatchard praised Twenty7tec’s innovative track record in fintech solutions and noted that BGF’s investment would support the company’s ongoing growth journey.
