The Business Magazine
LendingMetrics, a credit risk technology firm, has appointed David Murray as its Non-Executive Chair following a recent investment from LDC. Murray will collaborate with CEO Neil Williams and Commercial Director David Wylie to enhance the company's footprint in the rapidly expanding UK decisioning software and data market.

Murray brings over 30 years of experience in software engineering and IT. He co-founded Kirona, a software company he grew from a startup to a business with an exit value exceeding £50 million, facilitated by two rounds of private equity investment and a subsequent trade sale. His expertise extends to supporting various private equity-backed companies, including his role as Non-Executive Chair at ENSEK, where he played a key part in its growth leading to a successful exit to Centrica.

In his new role at LendingMetrics, Murray will assist the management team in exploring both complementary acquisitions and organic growth opportunities within financial services and other sectors facing similar credit risk challenges, such as telecoms, utilities, and insurance.

Murray expressed enthusiasm about joining LendingMetrics at a crucial time in its growth, highlighting the company's innovative technology in credit risk. He looks forward to collaborating with the management team to advance their growth strategy.

CEO Neil Williams emphasized Murray's proven ability to scale software companies, noting that his experience will be vital as LendingMetrics continues to innovate and expand its offerings. Oliver Schofield, Investment Director at LDC, also acknowledged Murray's importance to the team, stating that his expertise will guide the company through its next growth phase.

Founded in 2010, LendingMetrics provides software and data solutions that enable hundreds of companies to make sophisticated automated and risk-based lending decisions. Its diverse client base includes building societies, online lenders, mortgage companies, credit card providers, and commercial lenders. The recent investment from LDC has been finalized following FCA approval, marking a significant step in LendingMetrics' growth journey.
