Permira Opens Dubai Office to Enhance Middle East Presence

3 February 2025
Amwal Al Ghad
Private equity firm Permira announced plans to establish an office in Dubai this year, aiming to enhance its presence in the Middle East. This decision comes in response to the increasing interest in alternative assets among regional investors. Permira seeks to build stronger relationships with local wealth funds and create new partnerships.

The new office will be situated in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and is pending approval from the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). With €80 billion in committed capital, Permira's portfolio includes notable companies such as Klarna, Flix, and Golden Goose.

To lead this initiative, Chris Buchanan has been appointed as partner and global head of capital formation, while Nader Salman will oversee the Middle East division. This strategic move reflects Permira's commitment to tapping into the growing investment opportunities in the region.
