Aliter Capital LLP has successfully acquired Serbus Limited, a secure mobile communications provider, which will now be part of the ITM Group alongside ITM Communications and Bates IT. This acquisition enhances Aliter's position in the UK support services sector, particularly within the defence and critical national infrastructure domains.

Founded in 2010, Serbus specializes in advanced secure mobile communications, ensuring high-level security and compliance for clients in sensitive environments, including government and military sectors. The company has established a strong presence in the UK’s Critical National Infrastructure, collaborating closely with the Ministry of Defence and various government departments.

With its headquarters in Hereford, Serbus will contribute to the ITM Group's expanding portfolio, which already includes critical network and ICT infrastructure services. The integration aims to provide a comprehensive suite of managed services, including network management and digital infrastructure solutions.

Simon Fieldhouse, Group CEO, emphasized that this acquisition broadens the group's capabilities in supporting critical infrastructure and the defence sector. It also paves the way for a dedicated defence practice, enhancing their service offerings with secure communications solutions approved by the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC).

The founders of Serbus, Russell Ticehurst and Sebastian Wiles, both with backgrounds in UK Special Forces, will remain with the company to drive growth and pursue further acquisitions. Ticehurst noted that this milestone is crucial for Serbus's evolution, allowing them to meet the increasing demand for secure communications.

Wiles reiterated the commitment to delivering top-tier secure mobile communications and highlighted the benefits of being part of a larger group, which will enhance their service capabilities and resources. The partnership with Aliter is seen as a significant step towards achieving their growth objectives and expanding their market reach.

Overall, this acquisition positions Serbus to leverage additional resources and expertise, ensuring continued excellence in secure communications while exploring new opportunities in adjacent sectors such as emergency services and utilities.
