Ardian Acquires French Renewable Energy Group Akuo

Private investment firm Ardian has announced its agreement to acquire French renewable energy company Akuo. Established in 2007 and supported by ICG since 2022, Akuo specializes in wind power, solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, and energy storage. The company operates across Europe and the Americas, boasting a production capacity of 1.9 GW, with plans to expand to 5 GW by 2030.

Ardian has been active in the renewable energy sector since 2007, positioning itself as a leader in the energy transition. Through its infrastructure funds, Ardian manages over 8 GW of thermal and renewable energy capacity across Europe and the Americas, with more than $35 billion in assets under management. The firm aims to utilize its extensive experience in renewable energy to assist Akuo in its growth and to provide necessary resources for the development of its projects.

The acquisition is pending legal consultations with employee representatives and approval from relevant regulatory authorities.
