Francisco Partners Acquires Quorum Software from Thoma Bravo

Francisco Partners has announced its agreement to acquire Quorum Software, a prominent provider of energy software, from Thoma Bravo. Quorum has been a key player in the energy sector for over 20 years, facilitating digital transformation for energy operators by integrating people, workflows, and systems with actionable data. The company serves over 1,500 clients, including both emerging operators and major global firms, across 50 countries, positioning itself to leverage the growing demand in global energy markets.

Paul Langenbahn, CEO of Quorum, expressed enthusiasm about the acquisition, highlighting the company's recent transformation and its successful navigation of a changing market with Thoma Bravo's support. He emphasized the commitment to delivering exceptional software and services to customers and looks forward to collaborating with Francisco Partners to enhance Quorum's offerings.

Francisco Partners' representatives, Mac Fountain and Petri Oksanen, acknowledged Quorum's vital role in the energy industry and expressed excitement about integrating the company into their portfolio. They plan to support Quorum's growth through technological expertise and resources, aiming to expand its platform and customer base via both organic investments and strategic acquisitions.

Under Thoma Bravo's ownership, Quorum experienced significant growth, completing strategic mergers, including one with Aucerna, and a carve-out of Energy Components. This expansion solidified Quorum's status as the largest global energy software provider, offering a comprehensive range of solutions across the energy value chain.

Scott Crabill, a Managing Partner at Thoma Bravo, praised the Quorum team for their ambition and resilience in building an industry-leading platform. He expressed confidence in Quorum's future success as it embarks on this new growth phase.

Financial advisory roles in the transaction are being handled by Lincoln International and Jefferies LLC for Francisco Partners, while Citi serves as the exclusive financial advisor for Quorum and Thoma Bravo.
