MPC Capital Acquires €70m Offshore Service Vessel Investment Platform
MPC Capital has successfully raised €70 million for its new offshore service vessel investment platform, with significant contributions from various investors, including the Eurazeo Transition Infrastructure Fund (ETIF) and a prominent European family office. This marks ETIF's seventh investment.
The platform, a collaboration between MPC Capital and OS Energy (MPC OSE Offshore), is dedicated to the development, construction, and management of service vessels tailored for offshore wind farm operations. This initiative aims to enhance the infrastructure supporting the growing offshore renewable energy sector in Europe.
Martin Sichelkow, a partner and co-head of infrastructure at Eurazeo, expressed enthusiasm about the investment, highlighting MPC OSE Offshore's potential to significantly contribute to the European offshore renewable energy landscape. He emphasized the importance of the partnership and the promising market growth, which positions the company as a vital player in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Constantin Baack, CEO of MPC Capital, echoed this sentiment, noting the alignment with top-tier investors focused on energy transition infrastructure. He described the investment platform as a unique opportunity within a structurally growing market and expressed optimism about its future success in the rapidly evolving offshore renewable energy industry.
The offshore service vessel investment platform was launched in November of the previous year, and it has already secured the construction of six offshore survey and service vessels in Denmark. This development underscores the platform's commitment to supporting the offshore wind sector and facilitating the transition to sustainable energy solutions.
