British private equity firm Permira has appointed Paddy Padmanathan as a senior adviser to its global climate investing team. In this role, Padmanathan will assist in sourcing new investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and supporting management teams.
Permira's global climate investing team, established in March, consists of eight investment professionals. The team is co-led by Kush Patel and another partner who will join later this year. Their investment focus includes transition assets and enablers in sectors such as energy transition, resource efficiency, circular economy, and grid modernization and resiliency.
Padmanathan brings extensive experience to the role, having recently served as president and CEO of ACWA Power, a company involved in power generation and desalinated water plants. He also held the position of vice president and corporate officer at Black and Veatch. Currently, he advises and serves on the boards of several climate transition companies in sectors like transmission, water, data centers, and renewable energy.
This strategic addition aims to bolster Permira's efforts in climate-focused investments, leveraging Padmanathan's expertise and industry connections.
