Private Equity Firms Compete to Acquire MyDentist for £900m

2 April 2025
Sky News
A competitive bidding process is underway among several private equity firms for MyDentist, the largest provider of NHS dental services in the UK. Firms such as Bridgepoint, Cinven, and Triton Partners have submitted initial offers, while TDR Capital, the owner of Asda, is also involved in the sale.

The current owners of MyDentist are aiming for a sale price around £900 million, although insiders suggest the final valuation may be closer to £800 million. MyDentist, which operates approximately 600 practices across the UK, has been owned by Palamon Capital Partners since 2021, following its previous ownership by Carlyle, a prominent global private equity firm.

The auction is being managed by Morgan Stanley, and it comes at a time when there is increased scrutiny regarding the accessibility of NHS dental services in Britain. HIG Europe has also expressed interest in bidding for MyDentist, but it is unclear if they are still in the running.

As of now, none of the involved parties have commented on the situation.
